"You and I really love too long, to worry about tomorrow." Ambrosia

This is one of my favorite series finales of all time in my book. Yeah, it's really sad that this truly is the last time we'll see the Edgemont teens but it makes sense all of them are on their senior year of high school and near graduation day which means it's time to leave but also it means that their no longer teens their all adults.

As all of them are on the verge of graduation, it's decision time for each and every one of the pairs and characters. There was some final business with the stolen money, didn't really surprise me as to who stole it which is Mark's younger brother Travis. It makes sense as that guy seems to have been very troubled lately and now that trouble has become destructive and selfself-destructive.

We hear from him why which makes us feel a tiny bit of sympathy (I said tiny) as we see he's hasn't been a very happy camper, we never really know why maybe because things with his girlfriend didn't work out well, his friendships haven't worked out as I haven't seen him talk with a lot of people. The separation of Mark and his parents and he still carries emotional turmoil. I'm not sure whatever the case, he can no longer live in Edgemont; Mark of course gets his young brother to do the right thing so the authorities will go a little easy on him but sends him back home to one of their parents.

Mark I feel did the best he could for Travis, he did look out for him well but the thing is both are individuals with lives of their own, whatever happens and whatever decisions they make are theirs alone that's just how it is. All I can say for Mark's young brother is hopefully things will work out better someplace else and he'll be able to have a life of his own.

We now get down to the characters and plotlines. Like that little plotline with Wayne and A.J. whom are a new young Edgemont couple about to happen. I really like what he does at the end where he does the right thing for himself rebel and live life. It's funny that the beer he smuggled is nonalcoholic but hey it's a start.

Gill and Erin also have a plotline despite brief. Gill, we see is in a bit of a funk and he feels his quest for coolness is over because everything thinks he's ordinary now, though personally I don't feel he really has anything to worry about.

I really like what Erin says to him about his flaws but mainly one that he's a quitter. That I feel is true about him, I do feel he really does come close in most things but when the going starts to get tough mainly near the end he retreats. That talk down was the second wind that Gill needed and it's funny what happen in the end with both Gill and Erin and what both do to make let's just say Edgemont history.

But of course, the big stories are with the couples Chris and Jen and Mark and Laurel.

Chris really does want Jen back, but Jen though still contemplating the opportunity to run away with a guy we know is all wrong for her. Chris hearing this news walks away from Jen in disappointment. But what happens at the end is just sweet as we see Jen makes her decision and doesn't go with Eddie whom by his nature was just a rebound guy. She wants to move forward in life, she realizes running away isn't moving forward it really a trip to nowhere. And her way forward is with Chris because she still loves him. Chris, he comes back to her because he still loves her and has never given up on her nor them. So, now both are going forward together toward the future.

Also really like the story with Mark and Laurel is great as usual as we see both are just simply spending some of their last time together in Edgemont. Laurel of course talks of her plans and Mark also and both work those plans into each other and of course those best laid plains lead for them to remain together.

Though we see there is uncertainty in both as to whether things will work out or not with what they'll be doing. I feel this is a real dilemma with most couples that travel to a new place and are going to have different careers despite living together there isn't a guarantee that they'll truly be together forever. But they don't let this uncertainty stop them, if they did, they wouldn't be able to go anywhere. Both realize they just must simply go forth and see this all the way though together.

Really like the Tarot cards in the end which gave us insight to what happened to the characters afterward. It's an unique conclusion because it's slightly open ended, because we only hear what's happened days or weeks later but we're not sure of what more will happen after graduation, except for Laurel and Mark whom we do hear have actually do go off together after leaving Edgemont.

This ending is I feel slightly realistic pondering what will further happen to the characters afterward, will Mark and Laurel get married somewhere along the line? As well as Chris and Jen and maybe both will adopt children to have the family, they tragically didn't get to have the first time. I not sure but that's life, despite how far we come, there will always be many more miles to go; for them but also ourselves.

So, farewell Mark, Laurel, Chris, Jen, the rest of the Edgemont citizens, you really were the town. But also, farewell Dominic, Kristin, Sarah, P.J., and everyone else for making this show possible. There is nothing more to say, this is me now leaving Edgemont.
