Pneumatic nailers have a safety built in, the tip must be pressed against the wood before the gun will fire. There are 2 types. One type requires the nailer to be pressed against the wood first and then pull the trigger. The 2nd type is more of a speed nailer that professionals use. In that one the trigger can be held down and it will not fire until the tip of the gun is pressed against something. In either case the gun will not fire until the tip is pressed against something.
