The Feud Redux

Frasier and Cam (his upstairs neighbor) continue to feud. Cam is just as high maintenance as Frasier. His mother, a Veterinarian is staying with him. After she helps Eddie, the two of them connive to break up he feud. But things may work out in one way but lead to some other results. It will be interesting to watch.

It's like looking in a mirror

Has Frasier met his match, there is no looking down on Cam Winton. Culture and taste are overshadowed only by the stubbornness of both men. But, as determined as they are to cross swords, their parents attempt to put them in check. Daphne learns something new about her employer's priorities, and Niles finds a new toy to annoy Frasier.

A worrisome low point?

The past half year and I've opted to watch all "Frasier" episodes in order -- from Season 1 through Season 11... This episode seemed as if writing and acting were declining to that of an average, run of the mill, 1990s/2000s sitcom.

First came the writing, and then I suspect the acting to compensate for the writing... Especially Kelsey Grammer -- and this seems to be the usual for this season -- with the overblown, arch, over-educated, upper middle-class mannerisms and speech... Grammer's idea or done at the the direction of directors and show runner?

While the Cam Winston story seemed in the mold of the usual "Frasier" story, the Segway substory just seemed damned silly... I suppose the writers and showrunners are having some difficulty figuring what to do with Niles/Daphne since the tension of their relationship was resolved.

Still I give it a 7/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Every sitcom character needs to have an on-going feud with their neighbour, right? That's always funny, right?

No, in the case of 'Frasier' it's really not, and this was another seriously below par episode of the show from the ninth series.

Very simply this isn't a very funny affair at all, save for the scene where Martin and Sam's mother try and pull the wool over their sons eyes a bit.

But on the whole this is dire. Frasier is insufferable, Daphne is annoying, and as for Niles on that bit of kit - who on Earth signed off on that as being a good idea?!

The eighth series of the show was poor overall, but there were at least attempts to tell storylines befitting of 'Frasier'. These latter ninth series episodes have really lost the plot in more ways than one.
