This episode shows us a prime example on how much Lorelai and Rory's friendship has changed. Ever since Lorelai had to play the mom card on Rory over her affair with Dean, Rory has been a little hesitant discussing her relationships with Lorelai. She sees her mom as being judge-mental and doesn't actually want her opinion anymore on her relationships.
I have major problems with the kitchen storyline. Why doesn't Lorelai know who her kitchen staff is? And why does she patronize Luke (who literally drops everything to help her out ALL THE TIME) when he gets frustrated about Sookie & Jackson? This really bugs me.
I was thinking about how psychotic and unrealistic the Huntzbergers were about the term "girlfriend" until I remembered how crazy the Gilmores acted about Dean and Jess.
One thing I really loved about his episode is the chemistry between Danny Strong and Liza Weil. Doyle is actually pretty tolerable in this episode and I love when Nanny comes in with her salve and helps take care of him. Overall, not a terrible episode but not great either.
