She's got salve!
ISmellSnow25 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode shows us a prime example on how much Lorelai and Rory's friendship has changed. Ever since Lorelai had to play the mom card on Rory over her affair with Dean, Rory has been a little hesitant discussing her relationships with Lorelai. She sees her mom as being judge-mental and doesn't actually want her opinion anymore on her relationships.

I have major problems with the kitchen storyline. Why doesn't Lorelai know who her kitchen staff is? And why does she patronize Luke (who literally drops everything to help her out ALL THE TIME) when he gets frustrated about Sookie & Jackson? This really bugs me.

I was thinking about how psychotic and unrealistic the Huntzbergers were about the term "girlfriend" until I remembered how crazy the Gilmores acted about Dean and Jess.

One thing I really loved about his episode is the chemistry between Danny Strong and Liza Weil. Doyle is actually pretty tolerable in this episode and I love when Nanny comes in with her salve and helps take care of him. Overall, not a terrible episode but not great either.

MAKES NO SENSE
MidoriAi24 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Makes no sense first that suki has no money (remember lorelei had to take a loan from luke because they couldn't open the inn if not?) and is having a second child.. with a newly open business that needs her attention on the only thing that she does.. and doing no preparations for the time where she can't be there? That's the typical stupid plot line that carries on and make an episode.

Oh and Luke has a dinner to attend, but jumps right at the Inn when lorelei needs to fill the void dimwit suki left.

Makes no sense that controlling suki has spies that deliver to her all the food luke is making, not trusting in his cooking, and then calling him in rush hour to bash at him. He's working at a moment notice, free, for you, and he isn't mad about all this situation??

"that's my kitchen"? Well, you go in there if you can or STFU.

But it didn't stopped there, because she came to the inn and had the chefs coming up with food. If luke didn't throw the towel before it had to be there but the "comedy" needed to go on, and they called her dimwit mailbox for a mouth husband to reproach luke about the situation. How many times I have to say it makes no sense? And where is lorelei? Luke complained about all these too late. But luke stays anyway because "he's in a relationship with lorelei"... makes-no-sense

Makes no sense at all also that lorelei isn't mad with her for not make any preparations ahead of time and now she has to jump trough hoops to have everything in order.

Makes no sense to open an inn with a moron like suki period.

If you DON'T THINK at all you may pass these facts.

Rory making dangerous decisions regarding men, once again.... And what was all about crying in the bathroom on mommy's lap? And keep on sleeping in that dirty bathroom rug?

The "portuguese" maid is talking in incredibly broken portuguese.. maybe throw 10% portuguese words every time she talks... reminds me of the Kim family, mother and daughter korean, when in real life are japanese, and talk in really broken korean or in japanese.

At Logan's house his family rejects Rory. Lame excuse to create more unbelievable drama.

That maid is absolutely not portuguese and logan sucks
martacpereira6 January 2022
As a Portuguese person, I think should be able to understand what the maid was saying. Is it that hard to get an actual Portuguese actor? That portuguese was terrible.

Also, Logan is terrible, spoiled and entitled like every other rich kid. I cringe every time he calls Rory by Ace, like a condescending old man. I wish he would just go.

Who cares that you're a Gilmore?

Rory is so needy and whiny with Logan, it makes her look weak. So now I remember why I hated this relationship. Same thing applies to Lorelai, who has the audacity to lecture her daughter about not being strong and independent enough. When she was herself wallowing in misery, when she thought her and Luke were through. I hate season 5. I loved it at first, but the characters are destroyed there. And like another reviewer said, it's like writers created drama out of nowhere there. It used to be good, but ever since the Emily/Richard's second wedding reception's melodrama, the season is becoming a cheap soap opera, with kooky characters. Who have such immature reactions, you hate it when things magically go their way. Sookie and Jackson, my god, can't they just drop dead? They drove me mad in this episode. Honestly the only good thing about it, was the Paris storyline and that actress who was on Dynasty and Dawson's Creek, playing Logan's mother. The rest was just Rory being insecure and Lorelai not caring about anything.
