Let's be real, Rory is right.

Warning: Spoilers
Let's be real.

The ballet was probably really bad.

The episode is perfectly fine. Has anyone actually ever read a real review? If a journalist thinks it's bad, they have a right write their opinion.

"You must have a lot of ballet experience since you write about with such authority". You don't need to be a musician to appreciate music.

The ballerina said she'd been practicing ballet for what? 7 years? And yet she falls on her entrance, accidentally kicks her co-ballet-guy and isn't in shape to be lifted by him.

I'm overweight and journalists (and everyone) are allowed to state their opinion. The roll around the bra strap, I've noticed that on women that women that aren't overweight. But if it's that prominent then Rory Gilmore is right to blame the costume designer.

But the bottom line, the ballet was bad and the ballerina was surprisingly bad despite the years of training and Rory simply observed and wrote as she was told to do.

Warning: Spoilers
This is one of my least favorite episodes. Rory is struggling to write articles for the Yale Daily News and after two of her articles being rejected she is told that the only thing missing is her own opinion.

After watching a ballet, Rory writes an article and fat shames a ballerina. Everybody loves the article and praises it except the ballerina she reviewed. The ballerina confronts Rory at the dining hall and sends her death wishes. At friday night dinner Emily and Richard are over the moon about Rory's article and laugh at her horrible comments. Lorelai doesn't exactly tell Rory that what she did was wrong but points out that the review is too harsh and that "people don't write as mean as they talk, except you."

Lorelai's storyline is not any better. Lorelai has an awkward run-in with Nicole at the diner and judges Luke for putting his divorce on hold.

Mrs Kim asks Lane to send a special jug to Dave in California.

Warning: Spoilers
The only thing good about this episode is that we meet Doyle, who will become a big part of the show. Rory writes a mean article about a ballerina and Nicole returns.
