An odd mix of scattered literary subplots with pirate radio and Hamish's love life at the core. It was uneven, with plenty of silly bits, sweet romance, and broken hearts. The viewer is left in puzzlement for much of the episode and there is a tragic twist that pulls everything down. An episode that needs to be seen for series continuity, is keen to be seen for the romance, and is rather left unseen for all other reasons.
