Another undercover costume episode. And I loved it from the first frame. What an array of talent in this ep. The late and very, very great Ray Walston plays an old professor of Jennifer's who happens to write Romance novels under a female pseudonym and is now backed into a corner when "she's" to accept a writing award. Now that Jennifer's been recruited to stand in for him with Jonathan as her slicked back secretary, it's time for them to head to Nawlins for the event. Deuling, catty, conniving also-ran novelists make for some nice comedy, and the costumed dance provides a lovely period backdrop where Stefanie wears a gorgeous purple dress to go with her platinum wig. The problem is that there's a homicidal maniac obsessed with one of "her" characters who has his sights set on Jennifer. Dean Stockwell plays the nutjob, and this man can do anything. Even sporting the white boy 'fro, he can do ANYTHING. Look how young he is! Seeing this one so soon after the advent of BSG's Cavil, it's a shock, tho a pleasant one, to see him. BLOOPER ALERT: The extra delivering flowers to the hotel room delivers his line, "Flowers, Ms. Gregory" too early and steps on Stefanie's line. RJ looks great in this episode, tho something's still off about Stefanie's hair in the kicker. I know, picky, picky.
