The final day of filming for this last-ever episode, appropriately titled "The Wind of Change", was badly affected when the Great Gale of 16 October 1987 felled trees which landed on the chalets and on the generator used for supplying power for filming.
This was the last episode of the series ever made.
The episode ends with the standard song "Goodnight, Campers" sung by all the Yellowcoats. However after filming the scene had finished, the cast sang several extra verses "Goodnight, Maplins" as a tribute to writers David Croft and Jimmy Perry who were watching off-stage.
This episode takes place in 1960.
