Tim's Got a Secret Admirer!
ExplorerDS678911 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Halloween is upon us once again, and the Taylors are pulling out all the stops. No rubber guts, no glory. Being the master prankster that he is, Tim has Al fall for the old "head in the polyurethane can" trick, and then it's time to reach into the old "male" bag. Among the usual letters, one is personally addressed to Tim, and it came with a box of cookies and a rose. Apparently this is the second letter Tim has received from this "Rose" person. This is a big deal, and not just because this is the very first fan letter and cookies Tim has received, since Al seems to get them on a daily basis. So Tim goes home, warts and all (literally), the letter from Rose still on his mind. It didn't stop there as he actually received a phone call from her. Apparently she's madly in love with Tim the Tool Man and whispers sweet nothings to him. Naturally, he assumed it was Jill, until his wife appeared behind him. He talks about his new fan to Wilson, who fears it might be an obsessed fan, since they were able to locate Tim's phone number when he's unlisted, and warns him that his cookies might be poisoned.

In case you were wondering, this is all a big, elaborate Halloween prank masterminded by Jill, but what Tim doesn't know won't hurt him... actually, that's wrong. It does all the time. He was slowly sinking into paranoia, almost afraid of his own shadow. It didn't help that the Tool Time audience was comprised mostly of members of the womens' Sharpshooters Club. Tim wusses out of the show, and to top it all off, another message with a rose is delivered to him. It seems Rose will be at the Taylors' Halloween party that night, and warns Tim not to reject her or he'll be sorry. Anyway, on to the party. Al dressed as a gorilla carrying a baseball bat stands at the door, while Tim, dressed as a zombie, hopes not to become one. The boys have decided to dress as the Three Stooges, except they all wanted to be Moe. Everybody was having a ghoulishly good time, except for Tim. He's soon delivered a rose by Wilson, claiming it to be from some strange woman dressed all in red. Suddenly, Tim spots her over by the garage door. A big woman, red dress, red hat, and red veil over her face, and carrying a red rose. Horrified, Tim scampers upstairs to call 911, but finds it difficult to dial with his fake zombie hands. Suddenly, he's cornered by Rose, who lifts off her veil to reveal... Al! Then all his friends come in the room to relish in their success. The king has been dethroned. Oh well, he can always try to reclaim the title next year...or in a few hours.

Yep, they got him good. Now as I was watching this episode, I wondered to myself that what if they didn't reveal it was all a prank until the very end? I suppose it could have worked that way, but maybe it would have been perceived as too over-the-top. It works just fine the way it is, but I've noticed that it would be possible to work it either way. Great episode with a great plot, another worthy Halloween episode. Definitely one to check out this holiday season!
