In season 1, a preview of the next week's episode was shown at the end of the show to entice viewers. This was the first episode to have such a preview.
In the opening scene, Ricky has a brief argument on the telephone with the character of Jerry, who does not appear on screen. Ironically, when the actor who played Jerry (Jerry Hausner) left the show, it was in a disagreement about a telephone scene.
The title refers to an "adagio act" or "adagio dance", which consists of a combination of dancing, acrobatics, lifts and balancing. The French Apache dance (as referred to in the script and partially performed by Lucy and Fred) is considered a distant relative.
Lucy and Ethel pronounce "Jean Valjean Raymond" in French much better than Shepard Menken, who plays the French character.
Lucy's magazines include the September 1951 issues of "McCall's" and "Charm".
