Robert Goulet guest stars in this In The Heat Of The Night episode as a country
singer who's seen better days. But in the small towns of red state America Goulet
still has his fans. Among them being one of Sparta's finest Bubba Skinner.
Alan Autry among the regulars carries this episode. He gets disappointed with his
idol but in the end actually admires him when he steps up to the plate and takes
my responsibility for a tragedy that occurs.
Gary Crosby plays Goulet's manager and total entourage at this point in his
career. Joe Dorsey on whom tragedy befalls plays a former entourage member
who's carrying a nasty grudge.
Although Goulet would be better suited for Broadway show tunes, he does all
right with the songs written for the episode. Except I Love My Truck. Someone
like Roger Miller should have done that.
