Dot Does Twelve (Eleven?) Angry Men
kgraovac8 November 2023
Oops...that didn't sound too good, did it? Dot is the only female serving on a locked jury and tries to convince the men to change their votes. The B-plot has Amy needing a night off to perform a solo in church and asking Sonny to be her accompanist.

Another superior episode for Season 3. The situation is ripe for comedy because it gives Dot the upper hand over Nancy and it's a delight seeing Dot gloat and taunt her.

Jan (to Dot): "Nancy's developing a nervous tick for not being able to punish you for being late."

The highlight is the scene where Dot "directs" a re-enactment of the crime using the jurors as "actors." Gail Edwards' enthusiasm in this scene is palpable and it puts her character's theatre background to perfect use.

Amy sings "Amazing Grace" which continues the exploration of the religious aspect of her character we saw in the previous episode.

Dot's absence has the other girls pushing hard to pick up the slack and Howard presses Nancy to get them some help. He's not as paternal as Mario but it's a nice touch. This is one of the rare times we see Nancy waiting tables and even rarer that she's so happy to see Dot arrive.

Danny Goldman who plays the nerdy juror voiced Brainy Smurf in nearly 250 episodes of THE SMURFS.

Definitely among the Top 5 episodes of the Season.
