Season 3 Episode 7- First of a two-part storyline depicting the further attempts on Caine's life by China's Order of the Avenging Dragon, dishonored because they had sworn to protect the royal family, and the Emperor's nephew had brought dishonor to himself by murdering Master Po (Keye Luke). Three more Dragons track their quarry to America, where Caine discovers that his grandfather, Henry Raphael Caine, had been lured to a small California town, and shot dead by someone who burned the body to cover the crime. Eddie Albert plays Dr. George Baxter, who reveals that he knew Henry 40 years before, and that they had both loved the same woman, Sara Kingsley (Patricia Neal). Henry's death has also been revealed to Sara and her two grandchildren, Johnny Kingsley McLean (Edward Albert) and Margit Kingsley McLean (Season Hubley), neither of whom have any knowledge of Henry. When Caine discovers a charred book that showed a woman's handwriting, he begins to piece together the reasons why his grandfather was murdered.

The Shaolin Priest finally reach at his American side roots, not as he expected!!

The Chinese Priest on his everlasting searching for your American side relatives family found his grandfather Henry Raphael Caine (Dean Jagger) already died due his house was burned with him inside, the wise Shaolin provides a funeral not before a carefully looking of the cause of death, actually he was previously shot before be burned at flaming house, which any money was taken, just a little red bible was recovered from the ashes with a female writing underlined over a small text.
Seeming Henry had a closest friend Dr. George Baxter (Eddie Albert) the only man that attends the funeral, Caine inquires the Doctor in hope to get some hint whereby Henry had died for, the good Doctor was so slippery, just saying that both had in the past fought over the love of Sara Kingsley (Patricia Neal), actually this old lady remains unmarried raising a couple of children of their late parents were drowned at the sea, Sara is a bittered and prouder woman, haunting by his hidden past, throbbing away her vengeful ideas on his young nephew Johnny (Edward Albert) and pushing him for a revenge over the halfbreed Caine, due his blood isn't enough clean to make part of Kingsley's family, in other hand Sara didn't has any leverage on the Johnny's young sister Margit (Season Hubley).
Meanwhile in China the Order of the Avenging Dragon pick up three most skillful fighters to send to America to catch Caine live or death after the shame that has befallen on the Order after the death of the Imperator's nephew by Caine, after he shot Master Po that ends up to die at Caine's feet, Hereinafter the was advised to runway to overseas in order to find their American roots, sadly a poster of Caine's face with a bounty offers reach at small Town and they are coming.
For an opening season a great story of Kwai Chang Caine's saga on American ground when he comes close on his unknown side of occidental family's roots, although it wasn't as he would like.
