The Larry Sanders show was groundbreaking, not only the concept and characters that influenced many of todays cutting edge comedy's, but for the issues that it brought to the surface for discussion and this episode is a perfect example, race is a difficult topic to tackle and this episode tackles it well, Paul Mooney is one of the most underrated comedians because of the nature of his act people tend to be dismissive towards him and although he doesn't have a huge part it was refreshing to see him in a role where the cast is predominately white because that doesn't tend to be the case usually because people feel uneasy around him because of his opinions, Gary Shandling is a complete genius and that definitely conveys through the series as a whole. this episode isn't the funniest but its to a high standard
