- Anita Van Buren: [to Monica Johnson] You want to take me on, little girl? Well, let me tell you something: you better be packing more than a dirty mouth.
- Jack McCoy: I talked to the ADA in Brooklyn. He's under a lot of pressure to make drug cases. He can't be seen playing favorites.
- Detective Lennie Briscoe: So it's Cathy's bad luck that she's the daughter of a white cop. This ADA, can't you... scratch his back a little bit?
- Jack McCoy: I offered to beg off on a couple of cases with concurrent jurisdiction. He turned me down. I got nothing else to offer him. He's a dog with a bone.
- Detective Lennie Briscoe: Yeah, the bone happens to be my kid.
- Jack McCoy: I know, Lennie. I'm sorry.
- Detective Lennie Briscoe: Thanks anyway.
- Adam Schiff: [to Anderton] Whatever gave you the idea the district attorney's office was your family law firm?
- Carl Anderton: Whatever gave you the idea that it wasn't?
- Adam Schiff: [to Anderton] Gary Feldman is a fool. He is not worthy of your support.
- Carl Anderton: He's not you, Adam. That is good enough for me.
- Adam Schiff: All because of your grandson.
- Jamie Ross: [to McCoy] Follow the logic of your position. If you're for the death penalty, you're for the death penalty even if the condemned murderer is cute and cuddly.
- Detective Lennie Briscoe: [to Cathy] It's politics, Cath. If I didn't wear the badge, they'd probably cut you some slack.
- Cathy Briscoe: Being your kid just doesn't have an upside, does it?
- Monica Johnson: [to Briscoe] Screw you and your dead cop!
- Detective Lennie Briscoe: Just let me have 10 minutes with her, Lieutenant.
