Mariska Hargitay: Detective Olivia Benson
Quotes
-
Olivia Benson : So what have we got?
Detective Ed Green : We're not sure. Now, you didn't get any strange phone calls last night? Any messages, anything logged in as a missed call?
Olivia Benson : No. And you're certain that your vic was trying to call me?
Detective Joe Fontana : His life flashed before his eyes. You were the star player.
Olivia Benson : And you say his name is Patrick Sullivan?
Detective Ed Green : Ring any bells?
Olivia Benson : None.
Detective Joe Fontana : Maybe his face will.
Olivia Benson : [Green pulls back the sheet over the victim] Never seen him before in my life.
Detective Joe Fontana : Which begs the question...
Olivia Benson : Why did he die trying to call me?
-
Anita Van Buren : You check the SVU database?
Odafin Tutuola : BADS, NITRO, online complaints. Patrick Sullivan doesn't show up as a victim or a perp in any of our files.
Anita Van Buren : [to Fontana and Green] Walk me through this crime scene again.
Detective Ed Green : 16th floor of an empty office building. The victim was supine with a bullet to the chest.
Odafin Tutuola : Fluids?
Detective Joe Fontana : Victims's blood, but something tells me that's not what you're asking.
Detective Ed Green : He was alone and zipped up.
Anita Van Buren : Which doesn't sound like a sex crime.
Olivia Benson : Exactly. So why did he try to call me?
Detective Ed Green : [to Benson] Just 'cause he's not in your files, doesn't mean he's not connected to a case.
Olivia Benson : Good luck. I give out thousands of business cards a year. Victims, families, witnesses. I mean... could be anybody.
Detective Joe Fontana : Well, there is something else we should consider, Detective Benson. Suppose this is not about a case. Suppose it's personal.
-
Olivia Benson : Real piece of work. That's Lorraine Dillon. The blonde is April Troost, her daughter. 25, IQ off the charts, but good luck trying to find a heartbeat.
Detective Joe Fontana : You had 'em on racketeering?
Olivia Benson : And they walked. Not this time.
Detective Joe Fontana : You realize this is a long shot?
Olivia Benson : Sullivan died trying to call me. You were right. This was personal.
-
Olivia Benson : So, you're telling me that they're going to walk.
Alexandra Borgia : Unless they committed another crime while they've been under lock and key, my hands are tied. We've got nothing to hold them on.
Olivia Benson : This is a joke.
Alexandra Borgia : The videotape killed the murder charge. David Glass only *witnessed* a scam
Olivia Benson : Believe me, they did it. And if they didn't, then they paid someone else to do it.
Alexandra Borgia : You got proof? Or just a grudge?
Olivia Benson : You and me both know that they're dirty. Can't you hold them on fraud?
Alexandra Borgia : With Glass dead, his ID is inadmissible. Without the money, there is no proof of fraud.
Olivia Benson : We picked up April and Lorraine at their apartment two days after the murder. Maybe they didn't have a chance to move the money.
-
Olivia Benson : [searching April and Lorraine's hotel room, Benson leaves to search another room] Hey, Green.
Detective Ed Green : Yeah?
Olivia Benson : What caliber was the gun used to shoot Sullivan?
Detective Ed Green : It was a .38.
Olivia Benson : [returning with a gun on the end of her pen] Kind of like this one?
-
Jack McCoy : [to Benson, outside of the courthouse] You don't look satisfied.
Olivia Benson : Are you?
Jack McCoy : I think we got the right verdict.
Olivia Benson : That gun that we found in the apartment, what if it's April's?
Jack McCoy : But Lorraine took the blame.
Olivia Benson : Until April turned on her in court.
Jack McCoy : She was gasping for air. I like to think I've been doing this long enough to tell the difference between the truth and lie.
Olivia Benson : Believe me, so would I, but April still managed to fool me.
Jack McCoy : A fact which could be affecting your judgement, Detective. You could be too close on this one.
Olivia Benson : Close enough to know that we may have just been conned. That verdict put 500 grand in April's pocket.
Jack McCoy : You really think April killed Sullivan?
Olivia Benson : At the very least, I think she was an accomplice.
Jack McCoy : So, tail April till she goes for the money.
Olivia Benson : She'll wait 'till we look the other direction and slip off. April ran away when she was 14. Maybe to the same place she'd hide the money.
Jack McCoy : Well, who else was in their lives then?
-
[Benson, Fontana and Green arrive at Lorraine and April's apartment]
Olivia Benson : [to Lorraine] Thought you moved back to Florida.
Lorraine Dillon : Plans change.
April Troost : Who's there?
[Lorraine opens the door further to reveal April]
April Troost : Well, hello, Detective Benson. Did you miss us?
