Two Indians who have helped Earp previously, are being held by a renegade selling rifles to the Indians. They are in the Oklahoma Territory so the Army has asked Earp to go in as a US Marshal to rescue them. He does but as a doctor.
The Army is still fighting with some tribes. The Indians are being supplied with rifles and ammo by a renegade Dagget. He is held up in the Oklahoma Terrirory holding the Indians Mr. Brother and Mr. Cousin who are scouting for the Army. Dagget thinks Mr. Cousin is sick and has sent for a doctor. An Army Captain brings Earp a letter from Mr. Brother and Mr. Cousin asking for his help to rescue them. The Army is willing to name Earp a Deputy US Marshal and pay for all expenses including a posse. The Army itself does not want to enter the area at it would disturb the Indians living there. Earp decides to pose as a doctor taking several cases of Doc Fabrique's patent medicine which is 90% grain alcohol. He makes it to Dagget's hideout who lets him take the two Indians out but with two guards as Earp pretends to hate Indians. The guards fall asleep on the medicine but the horse of one returns to Dagget who knows there is a problem. Earp is able to wound Dagget in a gun battle allowing Earp and the Indians to reach the Army and safety.—Anonymous
