An episode befitting a season finale, "Barbarians at the Planet" is actually the second-last episode of the first season of 'Lois & Clark' and sets up what will be a very interesting final episode.
By the end of "Barbarians at the Planet", the Daily Planet (that Lex just bought) is no more, bombed to smithereens, Perry has taken an early retirement, Lois has taken a job at the Luthor News Network, Lex has bought the chunk of kryptonite discovered in Kansas, Clark has expressed his love for Lois only to be rebuffed, their partnership and friendship simultaneously at an end, and Lois - worst of all - has agreed to marry Lex Luthor, after hearing from Superman that they could never have a proper relationship.
