Quotes

  • H.G. Wells : [clears throat]  Forgive me for interrupting.

Loisette : Are you kidding? We could set our clocks by it.

H.G. Wells : Yes, yes. Quite right. So sorry, but time is of the essence, and I think I have an idea. What would you think if we found a way to have the Fox duel Baron Tempos himself and lose to him.

Loisette : It might keep the curse from ever being cast, I guess.

H.G. Wells : And you could return to your honeymoon.

Sir Charles : But that would leave the Fox to spend the rest of his life at the mercy of Baron Tempos.

H.G. Wells : Isn't that preferable to the alternative--him having to endure the first of a never-ending string of tragedies?

Sir Charles : What about Lady Loisette? We can't just let her be stuck with the baron.

Loisette : Well, if I know her, and I think I do, she can handle him.

    Sir Charles : Lois, I...

Loisette : Clark... I wanna go home now. I wanna turn on some soft music and open that champagne, and finish what we started in the 20th century. Foreplay is great, but this is ridiculous.

Sir Charles : [sighs, turning to Wells]  I'll need my green tights.

  • H.G. Wells : [to Lois & Clark]  The curse is broken, good and evil are back in balance, and love has conquered all. Destiny has blessed you both with each other--no small gift indeed. There's many people who travel alone through their whole lives and envy what you two have together greatly. Try to remember that the next time the Gods decide to test you.

  • H.G. Wells : The bad news is that unless you go back to the time of the curse and stop it from being cast, tragedy will strike you down in every lifetime, every time you... consummate. Usually it's very painful.

Clark Kent : Do we even have a choice?

    H.G. Wells : Abstinence.

    Lois Lane : No way!

Clark Kent : No, no, not a chance.

  • H.G. Wells : Oh dear...

    [checks newspaper]

H.G. Wells : I'm afraid something has gone terribly wrong.

Lois Lane : Tempus a king? We don't even have kings...

Clark Kent : Plus, he is supposed to be in prison.

    [turns to Wells]

Clark Kent : What is going on?

    H.G. Wells : [quietly]  I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.

Clark Kent : You said if we reversed the curse, we'd be able to consummate our marriage. Well, we reversed it, didn't we?

H.G. Wells : By changing history, yes.

Lois Lane : We didn't have a choice--that was the only way to stop the curse.

H.G. Wells : History is held in delicate balance with infinite consequences to even the most remote or seemingly insignificant change. So it's quite possible too that by allowing Baron Tempus to defeat the Fox, we unwittingly allowed evil to defeat good in a time and place not done so before. See, that over time could very well have shifted the balance of power in favor of evil.

Clark Kent : Which would explain why Tempus is now a king.

H.G. Wells : Yea, I'm afraid so, quite.

Lois Lane : Can't we just have a honeymoon like a normal couple--was that too much to ask for?

Clark Kent : Alright, well we obviously can't leave things the way they are so, what do we do?

H.G. Wells : We must go back and defeat Tempus this time. We must shift the power back to good.

Lois Lane : But won't that trigger the curse again?

H.G. Wells : No, not--not if we travel back to a more recent incarnation of yours, you see, to a time when curses didn't exist.

Lois Lane : You mean a different lifetime?

H.G. Wells : Yes, yes, as a matter of fact that's precisely what I mean.

Lois Lane : Just another day in the life of Lois & Clark.
