This is the end of Lois & Clark. In fact, the series started to go downhill after Lois found out about Clark, and after they got married, their relationship turned mushy and boring. A feather. The writers pushed Lois's love a lot and she, who was a lovely character, was a bore in most episodes.
And what's worse, in this last episode, we had the return of Lois's mother, without a doubt one of the most insufferable characters in the entire series world. I know her return wasn't the reason they canceled the series, but it's a relief not to have to watch another episode with that character.
In conclusion, if you want to see a great series about Superman, be sure to watch Smalville.
