Yet another 'space pirate' shows up, this one intent on winning a reward by passing off Penny as a missing princess. Needless-to-say, Smith sees Penny's potential promotion as a key to his own advancement. This is another one of the goofy kid-friendly episodes dressed up with period piece props (this one blending 18th century buccaneers and barristers), a clumsy 'fairy-tale' aesthetic, and silly 'action' scenes. Sheila Allen (wife of the show's producer Irwin Allen) has all the best lines (such as they are) while Arte Johnson (of 'Laugh-in' fame) doesn't do much and Robert Foulk as Captain Kraspo is just loud and annoying. By this point in its three-year run, the show was running out of ideas and failing both as science-fiction and as comedy (but I probably still liked it when I was nine).
