Falling asleep during a western movie MacGuyer has a "Gilligan's Island" type dream sequence where all his friends (like Penny, in what is, sadly, her final appearance) play roles. I don't know about you but I never have dreams like that.
MacGyver plays out an entire western movie, a welcome change of pace this late in the show's run.
Whether this episode has any underlying subtext (though since the bad guys are seizng property it could be a diatribe against Communism, but I bet it isn't) but I don't care if it has. It's a fun episode and (like most Penny episodes) one of my favorites.
It also shows the writers are running out of ideas. But since plagiarism and the use of clips and plots from other movies has always been a hallmark of this series, that's not news. I don't understand how such lousy writers were responsible for such a great show.
Enjoy!
