Better than expected episode.

This really was not a bad show. In fact, I found myself smiling at most scenes even though it was out-of-date to the norms that are on TV today. It begins when Binghamton finds McHale and his crew mingling with the local natives at a party on McHale's island. Binghamton ticks off the local Chief when he orders the entire base not to have anything to do with the natives and reveals to McHale that the reason is because the under Secretary of the Navy will be making a visit.

During a laundry drop off at a native village, one of the larger natives, Little Flower, gets the hots for Ensign Parker. Even though Parker makes no advances Little Flower, the chief's daughter, thinks the two are engaged. Now it is an awkward situation between the natives and McHale's crew. This is just about the time Binghamton finds out that the Under Secretary real reason for visiting is to talk with the local natives. Not the best time for war drums to be heard.

This episode did not get high scores from viewers but I was impressed with the script and the way the story never lost interest. Peggy Mondo, which will be seen again during the series run, was nice as the larger than life island woman seeking a mate. She made the entire story come together with the way she played each scene that she was in. Perhaps not the most entertaining topic but the show made me smile. Good watch.
