Season 5 is a lot more serious. It's as if they've settled for a more dramatic approach, this time. It's also the year the show jumped the shark, a lot. First Richard's revenge from beyond the grave, then Kimberly hiring Megan to « take care » of Michael. And now, Jane is meeting her biological mother? I know it was a way to shock viewers, but watching this plot play out for the third or so time. Still don't make it more believable. True they got to land Donna Mills, for the part of Jane's mother, but why? It was a waste of time. One thing I give the season, is the additional cast. All new actors found their mark very fast, and the Kyle/Amanda/Peter and Taylor, love square. Was one of season 5 most compelling storylines. This addition of new hunks and vixens, added spice to the show, and regardless of the monotony, it prevented it from running in circles. This episode in particular, had great drama and some well deserved humor. The Billy and Sam relationship is at its best, and even though Jake and Alison are boring. They fit well together. Peter and Amanda's breakup, was long overdue. And I always tend to be on Peter's side, because Amanda is just too castrating. I love the part where he makes a scene at the restaurant. And throws money at the waiter, for the inconvenience. Classy... Sidney kind of gets on my nerves, but it was funny to see her get in trouble again. Megan was tolerable back then, but her poor hooker act, get old fast. The episode closes, with Peter and Taylor kissing, and Amanda changing the lock... See you next year.
