Here we see a web of dirty cops on the payroll of a master criminal, and Jack falling in love with a cop he used to work with. I watched Midnight Caller when it first ran back in the late 80s and it's a series that captured the mood of San Francisco before it became a tech hub. Rick Braun's opening theme music is on the best out there.

A. M. Lai guest stars as an assassin.

Jack Killian shifts from wacky callers to examine the issue of survivor's guilt.

This is because a former cop colleague Jordan has survived a brutal attack that left one cop dead and the witness they were meant to protect.

The assassin for hire is now after Jordan so not loose ends are left.

It is up to the Nighthawk to protect Jordan but she cannot remember what the assassin looked like. There is also a leak in the police department.

Another moody show but that assassin was so careless. Then again so were the police. Security at the hospital was so lax, even though Jack knew that there was a suspicious Asian-American janitor hanging about there was no immediate lockdown.
