Veteran writer/character actor Buck Henry guest stars as Dr. Victor Rudman, the Einstein of the late 20th Century, trying to cross the line with Murphy by asking her out. They end up at a film function where he gets out of control, showing that intelligent people aren't always classy people. Then there's veteran actress Vernee Watson who is also very funny as Murphy's newest secretary, a chain smoker who tries to hide the fact that she has a cigarette inside her mouth from Murphy. You almost expect smoke to start coming from her ears in that scene. Watson looks like she's an absolute pain in that scene, so I felt a bit guilty laughing at her expense. Bergen is more of a reactor here to Henry's actions, and that certainly does require great acting skill.
