Murphy's heart goes from barbed wire to soggy oatmeal.

Warning: Spoilers
The final shot of the ending of season 3 was a real cliffhanger for Murphy Brown, who by 1991 was a cultural icon with very high ratings and a lot of critical praise and awards. This was an important turning point in the shows structure, leading to its most notorious period where it took on a very high ranking politician where it faced a lot of positive controversy with a lot of laughs and references seen on the news that could be used on the show. Murphy was seen holding a pregnancy test in the last seen of season three, shocked, and in this episode, the waiting is over and fans get what they want with her having a dream facing four doors: Jake in one, Jerry and the other, a bunch of supreme court justices in the third (wagging a finger), and a bunch of crying babies in the fourth.

So what is an intelligent woman like Murphy supposed to do when in a situation like this? At the office, it's up to Frank to help her, and Murphy weighs all of her options. It's obvious as we've gotten to know the staff that this baby will be as much theirs as it is Murphy's, because they truly are involved in every aspect of each other's lives. Two down, one to go in this arch, and lots of great moments ahead.
