"I hate it when you know it"

Warning: Spoilers
"I hate it when you know it"- Those words are spoken by Det. Sipowicz (Dennis Franz) as he and Det. Kelly (David Caruso) are searching for a missing 9 year old boy, and Sipowicz is convinced the boy is dead. The episode is great, with excellent performances by the entire cast as we learn the fate of the boy, Mary Joy is great as Inga Wentz, mother of the little boy. NYPD Blue has already hit its groove by this point in season 1 and there is a lot going on. We get introduced to Andy Sipowicz Jr. (Michael DeLuise), a loveable character in the show, and we enjoy seeing father and son go through the healing process of their very fractured relationship.

Great, Even With the Soap Opera Stuff
Hitchcoc10 August 2021
It was great to see Dan Hedeya as a guy who thinks he is a werewolf, but whose schizophrenic being still allows him moments of lucidity. He, of course, was terrific as Nick Tortelli on Cheers. There are a couple of cases. A Polish immigrant couple report their nine year old son missing. Zach Grenier is great as the taciturn father. Andy Sipowicz knows that this is not going to come out positively. We are also introduced to Andy, Jr., who despises his father, and who is making some big time mistakes. There are some sad and touching moments. Also, the Italian mobster makes the mistake of ignoring a window washer outside his luxury suite, provided by the government. Great hour of TV.
