"We're a team, Doctor. Team members don't hold out."

(138-word review) I was somewhat surprised by this episode; part of me must've subconsciously been expecting another weak one. Probably with each episode (or most episodes) until the finale or whichever episode(s) involves the plotline that results in something significant: I'll say nothing more than that for the sake of anyone watching this for the first time who may read this; if you know, you know.

But luckily, so far, this has been the best episode of the season: well-written, good character moments (involving Tony; showing a different side to him when questioning the female bartender that added needed depth to his character, but also the comedic aspect of the karma thing, as well as between Ducky and Gibbs), a compelling atmosphere, which invested in engagement; the first three episodes don't compare. More episodes like this one will be great.

NCIS investigate a crime and don't stop till they solve the crime. This happened in this episode

Warning: Spoilers
This episode is a good example of how writer's are not realistic sometimes. How in the world can the writer's expect viewers to believe that McGee would not connect Cluxton's father (and therefore, Cluxton) to this case until the end of the episode (57 minutes in) when he knew about it beforehand? If no one knew and it was discovered late, it would make sense. I don't believe Cluxton would have framed the original rapist/killer knowing that she had told McGee that her father investigated the original case. Her knowledge of forensics leads me to believe that her best approach would be to leave no forensic evidence at the scene and distance herself from it. This show is solid overall but like with other crime dramas, writers are not always looking at it from the viewer's perspective. It HAS TO make sense!

Annoying

McGee is so terribly annoying. He treats his co-workers degradingly. Actually all seem a caricature of themselves: overly bossy, sexist, insecure etc. I'm done with NCIS.
