- TriviaJuneberry is a play on Mayberry, and Sheriff Dandy is a reference to Andy Griffith. Don Knotts is playing a character similar to his Deputy Barney Fife character from The Andy Griffith Show, despite going by his real name. The town of Juneberry doesn't look like Mayberry because they were reusing backgrounds, but they do have a midcentury town hall building that was clearly meant to mimic the Mayberry town hall/sheriff's office.
- GoofsAlthough Don had met the gang previously on Guess Who's Knott Coming to Dinner? (1972), the gang and Don don't know each other. This is despite Scooby recognizing Homer Pipsqueak as Don Knotts.
- Quotes
Fred Jones: Well, what do you think you saw?
Scooby-Doo: Don Knotts!
[an owl hoots]
Scooby-Doo: Don Knotts!
[an owl hoots again]
Scooby-Doo: Don Knotts! Don Knotts!
Velma Dinkley: That was an owl, Scooby.

The Spooky Fog of Juneberry
The New Scooby-Doo Movies (1972)
"The Spooky Fog of Juneberry"
Scooby and the gang drive through the small town of Juneberry where they meet cop Don Knotts and soon they're trying to discover what's behind the mysterious fog that surrounds the town. As far as episodes in this series goes, this one here is certainly one of the better ones even though it comes nowhere close to the original series. Once again I think the biggest problem with these episodes in "The New Scooby-Doo Movies" is that they simply run too long and the writer just isn't good enough to keep you fully entertained throughout the extra running time. This one here works a little better than most thanks in large part to the Knotts character who was making his second appearance in the series. I thought they did a very good job with his character and giving him a few funny lines certainly didn't hurt. I thought the connection between Knotts and Scooby was extremely entertaining but the dingy cop also acted well with Shaggy. The monsters aren't all that memorable here but I did like the look of the human skeleton. Fans of the show will certainly enjoy this one even if it falls well short of being a classic.
