Patty's parlor job
JordanThomasHall22 May 2020
George (John C. Attle) asks Patty to tell his boss Mr. Anderson (Sammy Smith) that he's quitting his job at the Shake Shop, as his family is abruptly leaving for Detroit to care for his ailing grandmother. She talks Mr. Anderson into giving her George's job- $15 a week and all the ice cream she can eat. She checks out her register at the end of the day to find it $5 short, but reports to Mr. Anderson that everything checked out to penny. She borrows $5 from her dad, but Mr. Anderson found a $5 bill in the floor after she left. The work demands leave Patty overtired to the point of not being able to go out with Richard and oversleeping. She wishes to quit, but feels pressured after Martin writes an editorial in the paper praising Patty as a teenager showing maturity.
