One of the cases where the final resolution of the killer does not take place in a courtroom; however, the ending clarification of the mystery between Perry, Paul, and Della does take place in the courtroom.
After her divorce hearing, Lola Bronson (Lisa Gaye) comes out of the "County Court House." This same one-story building, with a small courtyard in front, has been previously seen in at least two episodes. It was clearly seen in The Case of the Blushing Pearls (1959), where actress Nobu McCarthy had to appear at the "Seaside Beach Municipal Court." And it was in the background (unmarked) in The Case of the Mythical Monkeys (1960).
This is the third episode in the Series involving a plane crash. The previous two crashes occurred in The Case of the Fugitive Nurse (1958) and The Case of the Frantic Flyer (1960). In "The Frantic Flyer" and in this episode, the crashes were deliberate.
During Bill and Lola's struggle over the gun, you can see it behind Lola's back when it's fired.
The character played by Faith Domergue is named after one of the heroes of the Chilean Independence Movement, Bernardo O'Higgins. She and Lisa Gaye play South American ex-patriots.
