Brian hits troubled waters after he sets sail on the sea of love
I think Singles Night stands as my favourite episode of Phoenix Nights, it's raucously funny, but also a little bit moving. Possibly the one episode where we learn a bit more about Potter, and see a more sensitive side to him.
Back to a time where comedy was allowed to be funny, this is a magical episode. Humour, tinged with sadness, it never fails.
Jo Enright is awesome as Beverley, what a performance, she's terrific, a character that's able to bring out a bit of emotion from Potter, great comedy talent.
That scene in the stairlift is hilarious, perhaps my favourite single scene from Phoenix Nights.
Two very well known faces appear here, very early days for both Sally Lindsay and Sian Gibson, both would have really impressive careers.
I've just noticed something very random, the little boy statue appears in the final episode of Reeves and Mortimer's final episode of Randall and Hopkirk deceased, random, useless bit of info I know.
10/10.
