The Barge that Michael Previn lives on is the same one that Duncan MacLeod Lives on when he is in Paris in Highlander (1986).
This episode involving a sword in stone is taken from the legend of Excalibur. Excalibur is the mythical sword of King Arthur that may be attributed with magical powers or associated with the rightful sovereignty of Britain.
The first tale, a French poem 'Merlin,' to mention the "sword in the stone" was in circa 1200, where Arthur attained the English throne by removing a sword from a churchyard stone. It relates Merlin predicted that only the true king could pull the sword. After many noblemen try and fail, teenaged Arthur, not aware of his true parentage, accidentally pulls the sword but returns it to the stone. He later repeats the feat in front of witnesses, as Merlin reveals Arthur's true past as the son of a King. As course, Arthur then became King Arthur who founded the Knights of the Round Table.
