Tim Kazurinsky recounts in the book "Live from New York: An Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live" that the male chimp he that played his 'wife' in "I Married a Monkey" had had it's teeth removed after it had tried to attack Kazurinsky during the dress rehearsal of the last time the sketch appeared, in Robert Guilaume/Duran Duran (1983). Kazurinsky decided to stop doing these sketches after he found out that producer Dick Ebersol was secretly taking out massive amounts of insurance on Tim each time he worked with the chimp.
From this episode until the end of the season, "Saturday Night News" is anchored by the show's host.
During the goodnights, Tim Kazurinsky and Brad Hall are in costume from a sketch (written by Kevin Kelton) involving a cavalry officer not noticing his post had been taken over by Indians; this had to be cut from the show when the ad-libbing made it run over time.
