Remember the time period

I see a lot of people complaining about this episode. They call it lazy, pointless, etc. But you have to remember this was a show that aired in the 90s people were not consuming insane amounts of media on a daily or weekly basis. For people watching every new episode live they hadn't seen a lot of these clips and episodes for a long time so they enjoyed reminiscing. For people who didn't watch it in order but just wanted something entertaining they enjoyed it because it is funny. But than there is us. We have been binging this show and remember the vast majority of these moments and therefore don't enjoy it as much. I still thought this was a good episode, it was funny.

8/10.

The Seinfeld Recap
Samuel-Shovel20 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes this episode catches some flack for being too self-indulgent, replaying all the hits of the first 99 episodes. For me at least, I kind of enjoy it. It's a nice recap of what we've seen, what we've laughed at up to this point. It's not perfect by any means but it's nice change of pace.

Take a Break/Get a Life

What's the matter with people. This was celebration of 100 shows, most of which were funnier than anything on TV at the time. We got to see, in vignettes of past shows, some hilarious stuff. It was worth it to see the golf ball and the whale bit. But there is so much more. For one episode, we don't have anything new. It's not lazy. It's a retrospective. Why don't these people just turn the show off when they see what they are doing? The creativity was the editing, taking various themes and integrating them in the show and making it work. Enjoy George's takes, Elaine's lack of common sense, Kramer's physical comedy, "Hello Newman," and Jerry's straight man routine. Also, don't miss Mrs. Costanza in the hospital describing what George did.

Seinfeld peak
safenoe26 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I've been a fan of Seinfeld since it debuted back in the 1990s, and it's hard to believe that Seinfeld debuted over 30 years ago at a time when seasons ran for 20-26 episodes, compared to now where (unless it's a legal or police or CSI procedural) they run for 10 seasons. Anyway, the Highlights of a Hundred is worthy Seinfeld, as it weaves it way through the story within the story of Seinfeld being improbably sold to the network, being a show about nothing and all. I loved the clips about the Hernandez and the magic loogie which was obviously a parody of the Oliver Stone movie JFK and the conspiracy theory around that.

Always hated this type of "episodes", brings nothing to the show. It's the lazy way out for the creators instead of creating a special memorable episode.

Retrospective episodes are lazy

Warning: Spoilers
Lazy lazy lazy. It's just clips from pervious episodes, mostly out of context. I can't stand when shows do this. If they want to celebrate 100 episodes, do a special original story.

I hate clip shows

Just a pointless episode and completely lazy.

Way to ruin the 100th episode Jerry and Larry.

You'd think these two would know better. Glad this episode is never in syndication.

Only Seinfeld "episode" I didn't like
gillmurphydogg13 February 2023
It's hard to down-rate one of your favourite shows of all time. This is essentially a compilation of funny moments in Seinfeld history (frankly I think they're all precious)

What was the reason for such an episode you ask? Because they got to episode 100. I don't see why that was deserving of this being made as part of the series. But anyway, it just didn't really add anything to the series as you can imagine.

Never the less, I do agree with some of the moments that were picked being the more funny ones. But frankly, the entire series is precious and I can think of numerous other moments that weren't included. In any case, great series, lazy episode that I don't recommend watching.

Worts 100th ever
tarascopablo15 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I love Seinfeld so much. To me it is probably the best american sitcom (hard battle with Friends and Frasier) but the 100 episode is just disappointing. There have been many great 100th episodes in American tv history but Seinfeld is not one of them. Having a retrospect of previous episodes presented as clips is just lazy writing.

Maybe is the gang had joined for dinner and beers and talked about those fun episodes in way of flashbacks, providing further introspection would have been an interesting take but hey, that´s just me thinking.

The 100th episode of Seinfeld is no different than any youtube video or watchmojo top 10 seinfeld moments.

Still, Seinfeld remains as one of the best series ever.

Disappointing for a great show
cherylkyrandia1 April 2023
Just because you hit a milestone number, doesn't mean you need to get lazy and unimaginative to the point you don't write an episode. Instead this episode captures highlights from the show that you can find yourself if you have access to all the episodes (granted, back then there were no streaming services). Never the less, it's a rather disappointing non-episode that can easily be missed and I certainly do as I go through my nighttime reruns of Seinfeld. I do feel pretty guilty giving such a negative rating, so I would just like to let it be clear this is a great show that I do genuinely love!
