should have stayed in the firehouse

Season 2 starts off with a curveball ... a.d.a. rita fiore wants to fry spenser and none of his clients or police friends want to vouch for his good character ... the writing is not up to standards so i would guess robert parker is no longer consulting .. as per usual, spenser and hawk will triumph over evil

Warning: Spoilers
The second series of Spenser: For Hire has some changes.

Susan Silverman has been dropped. Spenser has had to move out of his firehouse. A new character has been introduced initially as an antagonist.

Rita Fiore is the Assistant District Attorney who is after Spenser and strip him of his licence.

Many of Spenser's past clients are not happy with him. They think Spenser is trying to shake them down by revealing his secrets.

One nurse is unhappy that her past drug use could lead to her losing her job. She even contemplates suicide.

Spenser has to clear his name with no idea where to start.

You do have to wonder have to wonder how such a celebrated private detective will have problems vouching for his good name.

Also Spenser should keep his files more secure. At least there is some good action with Hawk.

The story raises the issue of quack doctors. Apparently more than 1 in 50 in the USA were unqualified at the time.
