- On an alien planet, SG-1 discovers an inactive android is the only survivor of the destruction of her civilization. They bring her back to the SGC for study and manage to reactivate her. Things take a turn for the worse when she "makes" a replicator bug for Daniel.—trekkie4christ
- The SG-1 team visit a planet devoid of life where they find what is apparently a young woman in a state of stasis. When they return to Stargate command and examine her, they find that she is in fact a very complex machine created with nanotechnology. Known as Reese, she has no memory of what happened to the people on her planet and although a sentient being, apparently has no idea that she is anything other than human. She's somewhat leery of her new surroundings at first but Daniel befriends her and gains her trust. She makes Daniel what she calls a toy but it is in fact a highly advanced robot. Soon, the entire base is at risk and the innocent Reese finally admits to what happened on her home world.—garykmcd
- While exploring a planet where the civilization was destroyed, the SG-1 finds an idle android and they decide to bring her to the SGC. Sam finds a compartment with a discharged battery and she charges the battery to reactivate the android. They learn that her name is Reese and soon they find she has the capability to build replicators. Further, her immature behavior is similar to a spoiled child. The SG-1 discovers why her civilization was destroyed.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- Carter is in awe at the technologically most advanced inactive android SG-1 finds on a lifeless planet, and advises to bring her to SGC for examination. Once she's checked over and re-activated, it turns out that Reese is the mentally immature sole survivor of the destruction of her civilization, and she produced what caused it: the replicators, programmed to protect her, but raging out of control. She's too terrified to turn the new batch she makes off, so the military treats her as hostile and is attacked by her fast-replicating metallic guard. Only Daniel is permitted to attempt gaining her confidence, and finds out she still has some control over them, potentially the weapon even the Asgard lack.—KGF Vissers
- Menace starts with SG-1 going to a planet that seems to be destroyed. They walk into a building with nothing but someone covered in a cloth on an altar. Daniel thinks she is a perfectly preserved mummy after consideration. Sam believes it to be an android, the most advances they'd ever seen. Jack dials the gate, and via video, the feed shows General Hammond the Android and asks if she can be returned through the gate. Hammond agrees. After some testing by Sam and Janet, it's found she has a compartment in her neck that holds a battery, but that is also too advanced for them, and Sam figures out a way to charge the battery. When Reese is woken up, Daniel feels a heartbeat. When she is woken and asked about what she is, she is confused and believes she is human, just like SG-1. Sam is about to tell her she is an android when Daniel stops her believing it best for Reese to believe she is human and see what they can find out. Daniel befriends her and quickly finds out although the android looks like an adult, it has the mind of a small child. The team wonders if she was made like that or has a faulty program. She is very demanding, has mood swings, and wants to see the world outside. She is taken to a VIP room given toys and other things to play with. Jack and Teal'c go back to the planet. SG-3 had been surveying and found replicator parts all over. SG-1 is unsure how everything else was ruined, but Reese was still intact. It is discussed that Reese needs to know she is an Android, and they hope this is the key to unlocking what happened on her planet. When Daniel goes to confront her, she asks if it's time to explore his world. When he says no and explains to her, she is an android, she gets angry and shoves Daniel with such force he falls into a bookcase and cuts his head open. Sam suggests she can't handle being told she is not human and may have something written in her code that caused the angry outburst. Jack suggests she is just broken and needs to be shut down. Daniel goes back to talk to Reese again, who apologizes and is overjoyed to see Daniel. She tells Daniel she made something for him and shows him a replicator. Daniel, visibly frightened by the metal bug, is told not to worry. It's just a toy. The replicator is contained by glass JAck is poking on the glass, and Sam said it hadn't been tested against replicator acid. Jack steps away. Teal'c has a gun on the replicator the whole time. Reece is upset and tells Daniel they hate her, and everyone thinks she was "made wrong." When Daniel tries to convince her, they don't hate her. She shakes. Her head refuses to believe him. She says her dad was told he made her wrong. She made toys to play with to protect her and protect themselves. She admitted she had taught them to care for themselves when people would break her toys, and now they (SG-1) was doing the same thing to her. Reese admits the replicators took over, and she couldn't control them, leading them to kill her father and her whole planet. She was the only one left and shut herself down. She was upset that people didn't want her to have toys and claims she can control her toys this time. Reese is left alone and fears that she and her toys will be harmed. She starts having the replicators reproduce and breaks out of her room, and goes to the stargate. General Hammond claims that Reese needs to shut down. Daniel attempts to get Reese to trust him so he can shut her down. Daniel attempts to get close to her neck, but she realizes what he is doing, and twists are harm, causing Daniel to fall to the ground. Sam sees that Daniel is in trouble, and a torch is lit to get cut the metal door to the gate room. Jack orders that the base is sealed off, and Sam and Hammond go up to secure the base. It's decided they can not allow the replicators to go free, and it's unknown if Reese can control them. The replicators already hacked into the computer system, and they cut the self district from the cord. Sam and Hammond turn the key to self district giving 5 minutes before it goes off. Daniel is talking to Reese once again, explaining that he can't have what happened on Reese's planet happen on his. Reese seems to understand. Sam and Hammond notice replicators are coming into the self district room and notice one is no longer following Resses orders. Sam updates Jack as the door is being cut. Daniel seems to be getting somewhere with Reese and trying to get her to stop her toys; she finally seems to understand and acts as though she is telling them to stop. Jack shoots her, causing her to shut down. The replicators fall apart and become inactive. Daniel has his body over Reeses and calls Jack "A stupid son of a bitch" claiming she was the one to cause them to break down, not Jack shooting her. Jack tells Daniel this "was the only way it could have went down." Jack tells the others to do a sweep of the base. He wants all the replicators gone. Daniel is still over Reese's body as he walks away.
