- SG-1 come across another SG team being attacked by Jaffa. They offer to help but are shot by the SG team members. When they awake, they find out that the other SG team are Jaffa, loyal to Apophis, who are planning to infiltrate Earth. - During an attack by Jaffa, SG-1 believes they have found another SG-team in peril, but when they warn them, they are taken out themselves. Then they find out 'SG-X' isn't USAF at all, but a unit of adolescent humans trained by the late Apophis' Jaffa masters, who ignore their god is dead and presume SG-1 to be masters sent to test them. Their devotion is touching but scarily misguided. Only after their commander, Captain Kyle Rogers, is wounded so badly he has to be taken back to SGC, a recording of Apophis's death there convinces him of the truth; but the second in command, Captain Nelson, seems incorrigible.—KGF Vissers
- The SG-1 team arrive on a planet where they find a group of young men - all dressed in SG uniforms - being attacked by Jaffa. They try to render assistance but are turned on by the group and taken prisoners. The new group, wearing shoulder patches designating them as SG-X and are involved in elaborate war games. Teal'c realizes that they are all followers of the now deceased Apophis and are undergoing their training to become Jaffa. The plan is clearly to have them infiltrate Earth, but SG-1 will have to convince them that Apophis is dead if they are to keep them from killing themselves.—garykmcd

They wake up in a tent and learn that they have been shot by nonlethal weapons. They are taken to the SG leader, Captain Kyle Rogers, and soon Teal'c recognizes that both armies are being trained by Apophis to infiltrate Earth. Teal'c convinces the soldiers that they were sent to the location to test them. When they try to convince the soldiers that Apophis is dead, they do not believe since he is a God. Meanwhile, Sam and Daniel try to find their real weapons. They restart the game and Kyle is wounded by a real weapon, starting a battle with real weapons.
