Hilarious

Have you ever wondered how it felt to be one of the anonymous people who work *with* the now-legendary team but never get to see real action? What would YOU do if real action suddenly sprung up and you had the opportunity to show off to your personal heroes? Unfortunately heroes are not always easy to work with. Especially when they have O'Neill's temper, and don't really plan on having you tag along on a top-secret, high-risk mission.

I think this is the 2nd funniest episode in Stargate SG-1 so far (after the unbeatable "Window of Opportunity"). There is a lot of action, but the best part is the constant humour and self-derision. It would rate even better if a few of the scientists' grimaces were not a bit over the top.

Oh, and I just love Tealc's slightly embarrassed expression when he admits to keeping track of how many times SG-1 has saved the world!

Fun, fun, fun

Every now and then, a serious sci-fi action series needs to take a comedic break, and "The Other Guys" fits the bill. A group of science nerds are being baby-sat by the SG-1 team during a research mission, and the nerds are in awe of SG-1's reputation as world-savers.

The Coombs character is played by John Billingsley, while Felger is played by Patrick McKenna. Anytime you get those two accomplished and talented actors on the same script, expect to be entertained. Billingsley brilliantly played the role of Phlox on Star Trek: Enterprise, and shows his range in this episode of SG-1.

The question is, can these goofballs actually ride to the rescue of the superheroes they worship? You will laugh your way through an episode that could have been serious, but chose not to be.

D team

Classic tale of the D team coming in clutch, gotta love it for all the nonheroes out there. Well developed storyline and decent acting. Sets and costuming felt authentic.

One of the Most Comical SG-1 Episodes 😂

Seriously found myself laughing out loud during this episode. I usually laugh here and there with O'Neill and Teal'c, but this one took the cake.

I really enjoyed this episode. The Star Trek references are hilarious considering Dr.Flox is playing Coons.

Silly but Funny

While protecting three scientists in a remote planet, the SG-1 is captured by the Goa'uld Her'ak to be brought to Lord Khonsu. The scientist Jay Felger that worships O'Neill decides to follow the SG-1 with his partner Somon Coombs using transport rings to the Goa'uld Ship instead of following O'Neill's order to return to the SGC. When they meet the SG-1, O'Neill explain that they are in a mission to meet Khonsu, who is a ToK'ra, and receive information. What will happen to the SG-1 and the two clumsy scientists?

"The Other Guys" is a silly but funny episode of "Stargate SG-1". The clumsy Gelger and Coombs are too much ridiculous, but the conclusion with the passionate kiss of Carter in Felger is hilarious. My vote is seven.

Fun idea, horrendously overplayed

Warning: Spoilers
Overacting "nerd caricatures" stumble their way through a misadventure that could only have the Benny Hill theme as its soundtrack. Scenarios of legitimate and unfamiliar danger were met with Scooby Doo reactions as I half expected one of the scientists to yell "yoikes!" and jump into the arms of another. I always enjoyed the franchise because it took itself seriously, as if the writers were honestly asking "how would everyone react to this situation if it were feasible?" This episode was one in a handful where someone was trying to stick the landing on a bad joke and portray a situation as unimaginable as possible.

A disaster

Warning: Spoilers
I have to admit I always hate these kind of episodes. SG-1 wanted to take itself at least somewhat serious or at least it made its best. Now after this waste of my time episode I feel terrible.

The whole story is without any reason. Even if the 2 idiots wouldn't come the whole episode would be without any sense. SPOILER! Why would they want to meet the Tokra guy? Why not just ask them? How the hell the first Jaffa found out something is not right and raised against his own god without any real reason? Why others didn't kill him right away?

The nerds were totally overplayed their character. I feel totally irritated by these kind of episodes. Not a single person would get into any scientific or army ranks with IQ like this and this episode wants to tell us that these guys didn't end up as a patient in a mental clinic, but sent to investiage a brand new technology and rely on their findings... Come on!

OMG, total waste of my time and I think its not funny at all, it is pathetic.

Not my cup of tea
One of the things that is really great about Stargate SG-1 is the subtle humor. This episode is not like that but instead silly comedy that at least did not make me laugh.

Whenever the show once in a while moves out of the frame that makes it somewhat believable, at least Sci-Fi believable, I cringe because it makes me taken out of the fantasy that is necessary for watching thus kind of show and it just makes me disappointed.

It's like the mean kids telling you that Santa does not really exists.
