- When Teal'c makes Sam Carter realize how valuable the knowledge left by Tok'ra Jolinar in her brain and the chance for an alliance can be, they convince General Hammond to let SG-1 attempt a meeting. They arrive on a planet which is deserted on the surface, but are awaited by well-camouflaged, armed Tok'ra who bring them to tunnels which they create by means of a mysterious crystal, which can also undo them afterward. Both parties are quite suspicious, the team feels like captives, and indeed, the Tok'ra leader Yosuuf fears they cannot be released, at least until the whole site is moved. Meanwhile, the Tau'ri barely overcome their suspicion against the Tok'ra Goa'uld biology (with symbiote), when asked to volunteer themselves as 'hosts', and Carter learns Martouf (and his symbiote, Lantash) was Jolinar's lover, hence has a special connection with her.—KGF Vissers
- Carter dreams about herself as Jolinar, the rebel Goa'uld who briefly inhabited her body. With SG-1, she travels to a world to meet the other Tok'ra and form an alliance against the Goa'uld. Meanwhile on Earth, Carter's father, Jacob, with terminal cancer, calls General Hammond to his bedside.—Anonymous
- Samantha begins to have dreams where she sees herself as Jolinar, the Tok'ra rebel who temporarily used her body and then gave up her life to save Samantha's. She and the rest of the SG-1 team visit the Tok'ra to see what they can learn and perhaps form an alliance against their common enemy, the Goa'uld. They learn that unlike the Goa'uld, the Tok'ra inhabit humans who volunteer to be hosts. Both personalities co-exist within the one body and may live for a hundred or more years. The Tok'ra leader, Garshaw, is suspicious of the new arrivals and isn't sure the Earthlings have anything of value to offer them in terms of an alliance. Their oldest and wisest member, Selmak, needs a new host but no one of the SG-1 team is prepared to volunteer. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Maj. Gen. Jacob Carter, Sam's father, is hospitalized and dying from cancer. General Hammond decides to send out a team to retrieve Sam and bring her back.—garykmcd
- Sam has glimpses of Jolinar and the Tok'ra in a cave in her brain and the SG-1 convinces General Hammond to go to a planet to meet the Tok'ra and propose an alliance against the Goa'uld. The SG-1 arrives in a desert area and are soon surprised by the Tok'ra that are hidden under the sand. Sam recognizes Martouf and explains that she has Jolinar's partial memories, while Jack requests a meeting with their leader. The Tok'ra bring them to underground tunnels where they meet Garshaw of Belote. The SG-1 and the Tok'ra are suspicious of each other, and the SG-1 does not accept Garshaw's request for one of them to host a Goa'uld. Soon, the SG-3 appears on the planet to summon Sam to visit her father, who is terminal, but they are not allowed to return to the SG Command.—Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
