- Michael has decided it's time to dump Angie, but doesn't know how to do it less insensitively then the many other times he dumped girls, so he chickens out. He could have spared himself the trouble: she dumps him because her dad has decided to promote her to manager of his Milwaukee record shop, although she hasn't learned anything about the business, so Hyde is not happy - or didn't she get that right? Eric finally has the paperwork ready to study, but now Red announces his college fund is now lost on the muffler shop, and student counselor Mr. Bray is only interested in girls, especially Donna. When he finally finds a solution, it comes at the price of a year further away then either Kitty or Donna could accept.—KGF Vissers
- Michael has decided it's time to dump Angie but doesn't know how to do it less insensitively than the many other times he dumped girls (he sends them a note that he has been kidnapped by Kung-Fu robots or has Eric tell them that he is dead), so he chickens out. Kelso asks Jackie for advice who tells Kelso to break up kindly, maturely and respectfully. Kelso decide to sleep with Angie's best friend.
Angie hasn't learned anything about the record business, so Hyde is not happy as he is the one working hard in the store. Angie still has no clue about music or what customers want and gives them incorrect recommendations about records. When a customer came in asking about KISS, Angie called him a pervert and slapped him in the face. Hyde confronts William who says that he is getting Angie away from the store, so Hyde can run it his way.
Kelso could have spared himself the trouble: Angie dumps him because her dad has decided to promote her to manager of his Milwaukee record shop. Kelso is angry that Angie dumped him first.
Eric finally has the paperwork ready to study in college (to prepare for a teacher's job), but Red announces his college fund is now lost on the muffler shop. Business at the shop is a bit slow and hence Red has to inject extra funds to keep it going. Eric has no hope of getting a football scholarship. Donna suggests that Eric should meet the guidance counselor as its their job to help students find scholarships.
The student counselor Mr. Bray (Chris Elliott) is a pervert and interested in Donna. Eric has to ask him about college scholarships, and he fronts Donna as the applicant as he knows that Bray will give the best answers. Bray had even asked Donna to prom back in the day. Bray perverts all over Donna, freaking her out and stomps out, leaving Eric to face Mr. Bray.
When he finally finds a solution, it comes at the price of a year further away than either Kitty or Donna could accept. Eric says that if he spends a year teaching in an impoverished area, the college pays for the tuition. Kitty believes that Eric is going to East Milwaukee. But Eric shocks everybody by saying that he has to go to Africa for a year. Red is happy and believes that a stint in Africa will be good for Eric, but Kitty believes that Eric cannot survive Africa. Kitty says that Eric could be killed by a lion or a disease carrying fly.
Donna is furious that Eric made the decision without considering her feelings and refuses to go out with Eric anymore. Bob is angry with Eric as well, since Donna stayed home and didn't attend college because of Eric. She could have had a bright future as well. Eric argues that he is going Africa, so he can deserve Donna. Eric says that he believed he had lost his chance when he had to stay home due to Red's heart attack, and this is his second chance. Donna asks Eric to leave.
