"It was just a fling. A one-night stand."
classicsoncall9 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
We've come a long way in twenty years in the realm of virtual reality and artificial intelligence. Even so, a seductive Cindy like the one portrayed here by Jaime Pressly would be quite a stretch, popping up in every electronic form of communication that someone like Ben Baker (Greg Germann) could come across. But anything is possible in the Twilight Zone as Ben finds out to his utter dismay when he can't get away from his VR girlfriend. You might have been able to file this one under 'be careful what you wish for', but in this case, Ben wasn't wishing for anything except temporary reprieve from his six-month commitment to remain celibate for his fiancée Samantha (Tiffany Knight). Only thing is, it looks like Sam wasn't about to keep her promise of celibacy either. You never know what to expect from one of those computer viruses.

Just Too Easy to Figure Out
Hitchcoc8 July 2017
This is one of those things males dream about. Imagine a virtual female who is willing to do just about anything. So the soon (sort of) to be married guy gets his hands on a virtual reality device and meets up with this gorgeous blonde. The problem is he really does love his fiancée. Soon this virtual woman has access to nearly every device that the guy comes in contact with...she leaves one entity and then becomes pervasive. She is there in elevators, on TV's, on the phone, her voice echoes through the offices where he works. He is in a kind of hell. But there are factors to come that he had not anticipated. I knew the conclusion from about five minutes in which disappointed me.

The inspiration for Black Mirror perhaps
safenoe10 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I think the second revival of The Twilight Zone hosted by Forest Whitaker was unfairly maligned, and some episodes stand up quite well upon reflection. For example, this episode Sensuous Cindy (or more like Sensuous Cyber-Cindy) is quite prescient, with its virtual reality equipment, online relationships, infidelity, twosomes from the same side, it's all there. In some ways it's the inspiration for Black Mirror.

Greg Germann, before he became famous in Ally McBeal, plays Ben Baker. Jaime Pressly is Sensuous Cindy. Tiffany Lyndall-Knight plays Baker's fiance Samantha. The twist at the end is one that Black Mirror would be proud of.

Also, I sometimes wonder what happens to actors after they leave the acting profession. Tiffany Lyndall-Knight became an academic, getting her PhD, and lectures at Flinders University in South Australia in Australia.

While Ben is NOT a fan of Cindy, I could imagine many being enraptured with such a VR girlfriend.

Ben has an odd relationship with his fiancee. Although they've been living together and sharing various bodily fluids, she has now decided that until their wedding day she wants to be a pseudo-virgin and won't put out for Ben...and makes him promise to be with no other women.

Ben is able to keep this promise...kinda. When a friend introduces him to a very advanced new virtual reality sex program, he tries it out and has a great time with Cindy. However, something unexpected occurs...Cindy is very possessive and starts contacting him outside the game...such as on his phone or on his computer terminal. What's next? See the show.

The idea of realistic VR sex isn't all that farfetched. Of course, one like THIS isn't exactly what most normal people would be looking for in virtual sex! Very creative and also rather funny....with a HUGELY surprising and sexy ending!!!

I noticed for the second time a cast member of the Canadian series "Corner Gas" appeared in an episode. 'Hank' (Fred Ewanuick), the village idiot of the series, plays Ben's friend at work. It was because of this, I checked and noticed this "Twilight Zone" series was made in Canada...which now makes sense.

The girl of his dreams
kapelusznik1811 December 2015
****SPOILERS**** Swearing off sex until marriage photo editor Ben Baker. Greg Germann. is given by his friend Garrett, Fred Euanick, this virtual reality CD with the virtual goggles that come with it to relieve his pent up sexual tension until he finally gets married and jumps under the sheets with his computer expert fiancée Samantha,Tiffany Knight, six months from now. The CD called "Sensuous Cindy", Jamie Pressly, when activated turns the horny Ben on so much that he totally forgets about Samantha in just how sexy Cindy is.

It soon becomes apparent that Cindy is so turned on by Ban that she even invades his social as well as love life by popping up, in his computer and TV, at all hours of the night and day begging to have him satisfy and stimulate her and gets him so freaked out by Cindy ruining his life that he finally installs a computer virus in the CD to wipe out all existence of her. Not knowing that Cindy is more then just a program in his computer but also in his fiancée Samantha's as well!

****SPOILERS**** The not so bright Ben should have known by Samantha reaction to his trying to keep Cindy hidden from her that she's the person who's really involved sexually with his dream girl. With Cindy driving Ben over the edge and to insanity both Samantha and Cindy can now live happily ever after as a gay lesbian couple with him, by being committed, being no threat to their relationship.
