  Andy Travis : [throws mike and its boom up in frustration]  I'm not on the air!

  Bailey Quarters : [rushed]  That's what I'm trying to tell you, the studio can only transmit one way!

  Andy Travis : [confused]  What?

  Bailey Quarters : [slower]  I said that the studio-transmitter link is only one way. Until they throw the switch, the studio is dead!

  Andy Travis : Well, that's dumb! Who set that up?

  Bailey Quarters : You did. It was cheaper that way.

  [Andy rolls his eyes at his own poor judgement] 

• Les Nessman : [after the bomb has destroyed the transmitter]  Johnny, Venus, you're alive!

  Dr. Johnny Fever : The newsman's eye, you just can't fool it.

  Les Nessman : [sadly]  That's wonderful.

  Venus Flytrap : Gee, thanks Les.

  Les Nessman : Of course, I'll have to update my story.

  Venus Flytrap : Story!

  Les Nessman : How'd you like it Andy?

  Andy Travis : How'd I like what Les?

  Les Nessman : My 4 o'clock news report, didn't you listen?

  Andy Travis : Les, the transmitter blew up.

  Les Nessman : Of course, that was my lead.

  Dr. Johnny Fever : Wait a minute. You... you led off your newscast by telling them that we were off the air?

  Les Nessman : No... but... I can include that in my update.

• Jennifer Marlowe : [answering the phone]  WKRP. Yes. Could you hold on for just a moment, the man you want to speak with is right here.

  Jennifer Marlowe : [placing the caller on hold]  Andy, he says he's from Black Monday.

  Andy Travis : [in a concerned tone to Jennifer]  Get on another phone and, um, call the police, and you tell them that I'll keep them on the line as long as I can.

  Andy Travis : [takes receiver as Jennifer rushes off, and speaks to the caller, listening to the caller each time before responding]  Hello, this is Andy Travis. Well sir, first things first here, why don't you start by telling me is this a real bomb we're talking about or is this just a joke. It's real. Well, we've all got our problems, may I tell you mine? Thank-you, you see I have two people out there at the transmitter, and I can't reach 'em. Well, I guess it doesn't make any difference that you didn't mean to hurt anybody now, does it? All right, all right, all right, just slow down. Now, you wanna tell me where you put the bomb? Uh-huh. Well, you wanna tell me why you did that?

  Andy Travis : [covers mouthpiece and turns to Herb about the bomb, hushed]  Tell Jennifer, tell the police, it's in the toolbox.

  Herb Tarlek : [acknowledging Andy before he runs off]  Toolbox...?

  Andy Travis : [returns to caller]  No, no, no, I'm listening. Uh-huh, we're all guilty. I understand. Go ahead.

• Jennifer Marlowe : [frantically, after the transmitter has blown up]  Johnny, where is Venus?

  Dr. Johnny Fever : [out of breath]  He's... he's...

  Andy Travis : What? Yeah?

  Dr. Johnny Fever : ...he's...

  Andy Travis : [believing Venus was caught in the bomb explosion]  Oh, no!

  Dr. Johnny Fever : ...he's parking the car!

• Jennifer Marlowe : [on phone]  Uh-huh.

  [to Andy:] 

  Jennifer Marlowe : Car's on its way, red lights and sirens.

  Andy Travis : Oh, great.

  Jennifer Marlowe : [into receiver]  Thanks, Commissioner. If there's ever anything I can do for you, just... What? Why, Commissioner, really!

• Jennifer Marlowe : [Jennifer checking her watch while on the phone patch with Mardigan, with the bomb scheduled to detonate at 3:30]  Andy, would you look at the time.

  Andy Travis : [smiling... monitor speaker is still playing music, confirming that they're still on the air]  It's 3:33. That's it. The bomb... *I knew it*!

  Jennifer Marlowe : [talking to Mardigan on the phone]  Officer? It's three minutes past the time the bomb was supposed to go off. Do you see anything?

  Jennifer Marlowe : [as the monitor speaker suddenly drops from music to static]  Officer?

  [Jennifer quietly begins to cry as she bows her head covering her face] 

  Andy Travis : [quietly]  It's an old transmitter, it breaks down all the time. The bomb?

  [Jennifer nods and Andy takes the phone from her] 

  Andy Travis : [speaking to Mardigan on the phone]  Officer. Are you sure? Do you see anybody hangin' around out there? Thank you.

  [Andy hangs up the phone and bows his head along with Jennifer in sorrow]
