Quotes

  • Virgil Earp : [From the wings of the theatre]  Best seat in the house!

  • Virgil Earp : Allegiance?

    Townsman : Virg...

Virgil Earp : Wait a minute. What does he think it's about keeping this side of THE LAW? Do you think we can run things from this side of Allen Street, we wouldn't last ten minutes. Oh, no, no. You gotta live with the men, drink with them, talk their language, and they'll respect you then 'cos they understand you. But what they can't understand, they destroy.

  • Walt Thompson : I've been eleven years withe Express. We just spent more than two hours on that telegraph, Charlie Loughan and me. He went all the way to the President of the Company. I never saw a man so set on what he wanted.

Saloon Girl : What did he want?

Walt Thompson : The Silver Lady.

    Virgil Earp : The what?

Walt Thompson : Well, ain't you heard that's what they're calling her now. Girl in the stage wreck, you know. Anyhow, Charlie's making good on that whole silver shipment, $23,000. So nobody'll try to regain those coins. And he's giving her the biggest, fanciest church funeral this town's ever saw.

Saloon Girl : A church funeral? In the church?

Walt Thompson : Yep. First thing tomorrow morning. Charlie says she'll be the first decent person ever buried in Tombstone. No Boot Hill for her. No sirree. And it's gonna be done right and proper.

  • Virgil Earp : Well, I'll tell you. He's right. I was looking at yer calf-eyed. Knew it but couldn't seem to stop. The thing is everybody in this town got kinda wrapped up in this Silver Lady, that girl dying in that strange way and all. Me? I guess it kinda stirred up my imagination. I wondered who she was.

  • Virgil Earp : Folks say you're a man who sees a long way and hears anything worth hearing.

Ike Clanton : Folks say right.
