Rise to the Occasion
coltras3512 February 2024
While busy teaching karate at the Chisholm Middle School, Walker witnesses the suicide of Henry Monroe, a much-bullied 12-year-old due to his poverty-stricken life, and seeks to do something to have the school improve its image, but eventually learns that the kids who bullied him belong to a gang that wants to keep the school just the way it is. Meanwhile, Trivette, Gage and Sydney are infiltrating the nightclub of Lorenzo Cabral.

A strong episode which is quite meaningful - it's simply told and you can tell that it means a lot to Chuck - he's not seen as a thespian but Chuck really emotes well, especially in the scene when the kid he tried to stop taking his life jumps.

Superb Episode

A very special and remarkably powerful episode of Walker which addresses the gang crisis and the choices our youth must make regarding their very lives. Beautifully written and superbly directed, this is Walker, Texas Ranger at its very finest. Danny Trejo give what is nothing less than the performance of a lifetime as an old gang member who cares about the kids throwing away their lives. His speech at the end is deeply moving and wonderfully delivered. Nia Peeples is also a stand-out and is fantastic in a musical outing that really highlights her wonderful singing talent. Overall, one of the most unforgettable episodes of this program ever produced.
