Ah, the bully episode. Every coming-of-age show has to have one. This may be the first one that didn't end with our protagonist prevailing (whether through a battle of wits or an older sibling stepping in to help). Instead, Kevin gets his ass beat and learns that this, too, shall pass. Not a bad message.
It is nice that they didn't simply have Winnie move on from the fight in the previous episode, and instead used larger circumstances to reunite our young lovers. It also makes me glad that this show didn't air during the age of social media, because incels would have been frothing at the mouth with rage at her.
Josh Saviano once again really makes the most of every small moment. For being a rather cliche "nerdy best friend" character, Paul is so much funnier and more likable than expected.
It was also nice to see Bobby Jacoby guest starring, because I always confuse him and Jason Hervey.
