The Aftermath
claudio_carvalho25 February 2022
Vala watches the battle on board of an Ori spacecraft and delivers a baby girl that the Prior calls her Orici. Vala is surprised with the development of Orici that grows rapidly, and she decides to call her Adria, who is destined to be the Ori Leader. Daniel is transferred to the Ori ship where Vala is before the explosion of his spacecraft. Meanwhile Sam is rescued from the space by Mitchell piloting the Odyssey. However, the Odyssey spacecraft is threatened by the Lucian Alliance fleet since Netan believes he was betrayed by Teal'c to have their fleet weakened.

"Flesh and Blood" is the first episode of the Tenth Season of "Stargate SG-1", with the aftermath of the Ori invasion with destroyed allied fleet. However, the half-human daughter of Vala and her fate is promising. My vote is seven.

They grow up so fast

A bit disappointed with the apparent lack of battle aftermath. However, the storyline was well developed and lot of plot moves made with Vala and the Ori.

How to start your season
uncleoyster3 February 2011
Warning: Spoilers
"Camelot" left our heroes in a pretty bad place. Merlin's weapon wasn't found, they failed to stop the Supergate from activating and the Ori troops flooded into our galaxy; the Korelev was destroyed along with a bunch of Jaffa motherships and Tealc's ploy to bring the Lucien Alliance into the mix didn't help at all. Things are looking bleak indeed.

So the season kicks off with Vala giving birth to a child the Prior calls "Orici", which is basically the Ori equivalent of the Harcesis. Vala puts it nicely, "they used me to get one of their own across the border". The Harcesis story was very badly handled, so here's hoping they do a better job with this one.

It's actually pretty exciting to watch "our team" pick up the pieces from the end of last season, because they really are quite screwed (pardon the language). And in spite of their rather hopeless situation, they go after the bad guys, get the main characters back and flee with their tail between their legs!

There's so much good in this one; Mitchell's rescuing Sam (awesome flying!), Vala naming her daughter after her "witch of a woman" stepmother, the Ori incursion at Chulak, Adria actually being a really really creepy kid, and the overall ominous feeling throughout the episode. When the Ori storyline was introduced last season, I was thoroughly pleased. After 8 seasons of Gua'uld it was a welcome change. And at this point in the saga, they've become an even more tangible threat; they have troops on our territory, they have a superbeing on their side and their ships so far seem to be invincible!

This awesome season opener gets a 10/10 from me.

Why Teal'c is the Man!!!
voice2hear19 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This episode shows why Teal'c is so awesome!

At the end of Season 9, the Ori have entered the galaxy and handed our heroes a big ol' butt whooping. This episode picks up right after that battle ends, but somehow, someway, Teal'c has taken time to get a haircut and get some plastic surgery (at the very least, Botox)! All while on an enemy ship! What a man! If he can't defeat the enemy, he's gonna make darn sure he looks fake and plastic with taut skin, and his hair shaved down. Wow! What a stud!

The Lucian Alliance must have some stellar personal improvement facilities on their ships, although they always look a little rag-tag. Maybe they just reserve them for their guests, and don't use them themselves?

Anyway... It takes a few more episodes before Teal'c starts to look normal again, but until that happens, you get to laugh every time he is on the screen, because his face is pulled so tight, he almost looks like he's smiling the whole time.
