Fans of Michael Bay’s 2005 sci-fi film, The Island, where a man goes on the run after he discovers that he is actually a “harvestable being”, and is being kept as a source of replacement parts, along with others, in a Utopian facility, finally comes to Blu-ray just in time for Transformers 3, on June 21st.
The film was on of the few Michael Bay-directed films not to become a huge blockbuster, marred with product placement and a lawsuit with plagiarism of a 1979 film called Parts: The Clonus Horror. Regardless, Paramount will be releasing the film with DTS-hd Master Audio and extras including a commentary by director Michael Bay and three featurettes: The Future In Action; The Making of The Island; and Pre-visualization: Forward Thinking. No word on anything new, but I doubt it. No cover art has been released yet.
